Nagaland Governor Honors Top Performing Students in Kohima

Kohima: Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav honored the state's top students during a ceremony held Wednesday at Lok Bhavan in Kohima. The event celebrated rank holders and recipients of the Governor's Awards following the 2026 HSLC and HSSLC examinations.

Addressing the students, the Governor praised their perseverance and discipline. He stated, "The Governor’s Award for Meritorious Students was instituted not only to recognise outstanding performance but also to celebrate and promote a culture of academic excellence among the youth of Nagaland." He added that these awards serve to motivate the next generation to reach their full potential while contributing to the state and the country.

Yadav emphasized that these academic achievements are the result of collective support from families, teachers, and schools. He credited parents and mentors for their role in guiding the young achievers and urged the students to maintain values like integrity and humility throughout their careers. The Governor encouraged the youth to continue setting ambitious goals as they apply their knowledge toward the betterment of society.
