Nagaland Government Announces Major Bureaucratic Reshuffle

Kohima: The Nagaland government has issued an official notification announcing the immediate transfer and posting of several Indian Administrative Service and Nagaland Civil Service officers. The reshuffle affects a wide range of departments across the state administration.

V. Shashank Shekhar, who serves as Additional Chief Secretary and Director General of the Administrative Training Institute, has been relieved of his duties in the Law and Justice department. Anoop Khinchi, Commissioner and Secretary of Health and Family Welfare, will take on the additional responsibility of the Law and Justice portfolio. Mohammed Ali Shihab A. is assigned the additional charge of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, while Akumla Chuba will continue her role as Commissioner and Secretary of Horticulture.

Several other senior officials have seen their roles adjusted. Angelina Tajen moves to the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services department, and Akunu S. Meyase takes over as Secretary of Economics and Statistics with additional oversight of Parliamentary Affairs. Temjensangla is appointed Secretary of Lokayukta, with Tiameren Chang shifting to Joint Secretary of Youth Resources and Sports and serving as Managing Director of the Nagaland Bio Resource Mission.

The notification also outlines numerous changes at the district and secretariat levels. Chumlamo Humtsoe is now the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Seyochung, while James T. Khulu Tikhir moves to the Pughoboto office. Other notable reassignments include Selemla S. Sangtam as SDO (Civil) in Mokokchung, Wanmei C. Phom as SDO (Civil) in Meluri, and Imlijungla Lemtur as EAC in Tuli. Several officers, including Kikato K. Chishi, Dr. Samuel Akho Konyak P., and Dr. Zujanbeni N. Ngullie, have been granted additional administrative charges for their respective jurisdictions.
