Nagaland Announces Guidelines for Census 2027 Self-Enumeration

Kohima: The Home Department of Nagaland has released official procedures for the Phase-I Census 2027 self-enumeration process. Residents can submit their household data through the government portal at https://se.census.gov.in during a 15-day window starting June 16 and ending June 30. Officials expect the entire digital process to take between 15 and 20 minutes to complete.

To begin, users must select Nagaland from the menu, enter a captcha, and register using the head of household's name and a mobile number. After verifying their phone number via OTP, residents are required to input location details and place an interactive marker on a digital map. The portal provides help through FAQs and tooltips as users fill out the required housing questionnaire.

Successful completion generates an 11-digit identification number starting with the letter H. According to the official notification, "If not finally submitted before the state’s closing date, the Self-Enumeration will be treated as incomplete." Once a user clicks the final submit button, the information is locked and cannot be edited by the resident.

Households must provide this unique ID to officials during the upcoming house-to-house operations. Enumerators will use the ID to validate the digital entries against their own records. If the information does not match, the government will collect the household data again. To assist with the process, the state has provided a user guide and flow chart alongside the initial notification.
