Kohima: Nagaland is shifting gears in dental care. Officials recently hosted a workshop at the Naga Hospital Authority Kohima to introduce Polyjet 3D printing for monolithic complete dentures. The tech cuts down production time while boosting precision for patients.
Anoop Khinchi, commissioner and secretary of Health and Family Welfare, spoke at the event. He noted that tech is changing how doctors work. "Healthcare was being redefined by technology, with dentistry witnessing rapid transformation through digital tools such as digital impressions, CAD-CAM and 3D printing," Khinchi said. He expects these tools to make medical care more accessible across the state.
The government wants to bridge the gap between theory and clinical practice. Khinchi pushed for stronger partnerships between hospitals, schools, and private industry to push innovation forward. The Technology Advisor for the Industry 4.0 Innovation Centre provided the new 3D printer and technical support to the hospital. Officials now want to push these digital workflows into district clinics and local dental colleges to reach more patients.
