Imphal: Fifteen Nagaland-based youth organizations have submitted a joint memorandum to Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, calling for urgent action regarding the death of six Naga individuals in Manipur. The groups are demanding that the Nagaland government pressure both state and central authorities to conduct a transparent and time-bound investigation into the abduction, torture, and murder of the victims.

The memorandum expressed profound grief over the incident, stating that the victims' bodies were found mutilated. The youth bodies stated, "Our 6 Naga brothers were killed, their bodies mutilated beyond recognition, pure act of evil incarnate." The organizations alleged that survivors identified residents of Leilon Vaiphei and Kuki militants as the perpetrators, yet no arrests have been made.

The coalition, which includes the Dimapur Ao Youth Organisation and the Tenyimi Youth Organisation, warned that the failure to prosecute those responsible undermines the rule of law and risks destabilizing the wider Northeast region. They criticized what they described as an "eerie silent conspiracy" surrounding the incident and noted that the recovery of the remains only occurred after the release of 14 Kuki captives by Naga community members.

Beyond seeking justice, the youth leaders requested increased security and intelligence measures at the border to prevent the spillover of violence into Nagaland. They also raised concerns regarding the conduct of security forces in Manipur, urging for impartiality and accountability. The groups concluded by calling on the government to ensure that no individuals involved in the violence are granted refuge within Nagaland, emphasizing their commitment to protecting the safety and security of the Naga people.
