Imphal: The Naga Women’s Union has formally petitioned the Director General of the National Investigation Agency to conduct an impartial and time-bound investigation into the abduction and murder of six civilians from Konsakhul, Manipur. The formal representation was submitted via the Deputy Commissioner of Senapati District.

These victims were abducted on May 13 and their remains were discovered on June 10, 2026. The union highlighted the extreme brutality of the incident, which included the confinement of 12 women and a young child. Ch Priscilla Thiumai, President of the union, stated, "The manner in which the victims’ bodies were found, beheaded, mutilated, dismembered, and subjected to other forms of extreme violence has profoundly shocked the conscience of society."

The union outlined several critical demands, including the arrest of the absconding Leilon Vaiphei village chief and the detention of more than 30 individuals identified by the Kangpokpi Police. They also called for the immediate arrest of Thanggilian Vaiphei, a state police officer allegedly witnessed by hostages during the event. Furthermore, the organization urged authorities to investigate the role of the KNF-P under the Suspension of Operations framework.

Calling for the preservation of all forensic and digital evidence, the union emphasized that the incident remains a profound human tragedy. They maintain that all suspects, regardless of status or organizational affiliation, must be held accountable to ensure that the rule of law is upheld for the grieving families.
