Naga Village Guard Enforces Strict Boycott Against Kuki Community

Imphal: The Eastern Command of the Naga Village Guard ordered a total freeze on civic and economic ties with the Kuki community. The mandate hit the streets on July 2, 2026. It covers Ukhrul, Kamjong, and Saikul.

This move follows a February 25 declaration by the Tangkhul Naga Long. The NVG claims people are still working with Kuki groups in defiance of that ban. The command calls this a serious concern. They insist that such cooperation will stop now.

"Such actions would no longer be tolerated," the Eastern Command stated in their official notice. The group promised to hit back at anyone ignoring the order. They demand all organizations and residents follow the rules without exception.

Violence and political friction continue to tear through Manipur. The latest decree creates more pressure in the hill districts. It forces a hard line on the local population while tensions remain high between the groups.
