Kohima: The Working Committee of Naga National Political Groups and the NSCN (IM) met face to face on September 17. The meeting took place in Chumoukedima. This marks the fifth time these groups have sat down to talk. They remain divided over how to fix the Naga political issue.
Reports show the session happened shortly after the NSCN (IM) held talks with the Political Affairs Committee of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly. Both sides still stand on opposite sides of the table. One faction pushed to take their disagreements to Delhi to hammer out a consensus. The other group said no.
Dialogue is moving forward. However, the groups still cannot reconcile their differences regarding the Agreed Position and the Framework Agreement. The stalemate persists. As sources noted, the groups "could not reconcile differences as far as the Agreed Position and Framework Agreement was concerned."
