Guwahati: Morigaon District Commissioner Srishti Singh gathered school leaders this week to force action on the Nijut Moina scheme. She chaired the review meeting to fix gaps in how the district signs up and keeps girl students in classrooms. The stakes are high. Officials want to smash barriers preventing young women from reaching higher education.
Additional District Commissioner Rakesh Deka joined the session alongside the District Elementary Education Officer. Principals and headmasters from across the district packed the room to coordinate the rollout. The administration confirmed its commitment to the program, stating the initiative "aims to encourage young women to continue their studies and reduce barriers to higher education."
The group mapped out strategies to improve local enrolment numbers. They intend to lock down coordination between schools to ensure every eligible student gets the support promised by the scheme.
