Morigaon District Hosts Cycle Rally and Kayaking for Independence Day

Guwahati: Morigaon district officials kicked off Independence Day preparations on Tuesday, August 11. They ran a massive cycle rally and a kayaking competition to drum up support for the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign. Students swarmed the streets for the morning ride.

The events target local residents to boost engagement with national celebrations. District Commissioner Srishti Singh confirmed the rally followed specific orders from the Central Government. The administration gathered students from across the region to lead the push.

Athletes took to the historic Charan Beel for the kayaking race. This water competition paired with the cycling event to highlight the national flag and the government outreach effort. Regarding the scope of these activities, Srishti Singh stated, "The administration is conducting the programmes as part of preparations for August 15 and to encourage greater community participation in the celebrations."
