Kohima: The Mokokchung district administration in Nagaland officially launched its District Action Plan for the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan 2026 on Friday. This local initiative is designed to create a drug-free society by aligning with the broader mandate from the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment to address substance abuse at the grassroots level.

To combat the crisis effectively, officials have adopted a four-pronged strategy. This approach focuses on curbing the supply of illicit substances, reducing consumer demand, launching outreach programs for vulnerable groups, and establishing monitoring systems to ensure accountability. As the administration works toward these goals, the plan aims to dismantle trafficking networks through collective effort.

District officers and civil society organisations now carry specific, time-bound responsibilities to implement these measures. These stakeholders will work in coordination to dismantle substance abuse networks and promote a healthier, drug-free community across the district.
