Aizawl: Mizoram University is hiring a Senior Project Associate for a project funded by the Department of Biotechnology, New Delhi. The role supports the development of standardized production processes for Mizo fermented mustard, also known as sam-um, under the university's Department of Horticulture, Aromatic and Medicinal Plants. Only one position is open.
Applicants need a master's degree in a biological science branch with at least 55 percent marks or equivalent. You also need four years of research and development experience after your post-graduate degree, or a PhD in a relevant biological field. Candidates with published work in this area get preference. "It is obligatory on part of the staff to write research papers on the outcome of the project."
Work duties include isolating and characterizing the microbes used to make these fermented products. The position pays Rs. 42,000 per month plus 9 percent house rent allowance. You must be 40 years old or younger to qualify.
