Aizawl: Mizoram is marking 40 years of stability. Governor Vijay Kumar Singh and Chief Minister Lalduhoma called on residents to protect the peace established by the 1986 agreement. The deal ended two decades of insurgency. It turned the state around.

The Governor paid tribute to the leaders and everyday citizens who built this stability. He reminded the public that maintaining this environment is vital for schools, hospitals, and roads. "Peace is not merely the absence of conflict, but the foundation for human rights, democracy, trust, tolerance and brotherhood," Singh said.

Chief Minister Lalduhoma noted that development stalled for years during the fighting. He pointed to major wins since the accord. The state now boasts high literacy and ranks among the best for well-being in the Northeast. Progress is happening now. Workers are pushing ahead with the Vairengte-Sairang four-lane highway and railway extensions to Sairang and Thenzawl.

Lalduhoma remains optimistic. He believes the peaceful environment will support future projects. He wants the state to stay united to drive further success.
