Aizawl: Mizoram authorities handed out 494,033 Inner Line Permits since the start of 2024. Home Minister K Sapdanga confirmed these figures during a Thursday session of the state Assembly. The document remains mandatory for Indian citizens looking to visit or stay within restricted borders.
Security forces are tightening the net. Officers apprehended 934 people for unauthorized entry throughout this year. These arrests highlight a push to lock down state boundaries. The minister stated, "The government has also intensified measures to monitor and prevent unauthorised entry into Mizoram."
The permit system functions across Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Mizoram, and Manipur. Officials monitor these transit points daily. They aim to track every non-resident moving across the region.
