Aizawl: Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma issued a stark warning to the state's youth on June 25. He demanded they shun narcotics to prevent addiction from wrecking their lives and families. Addiction kills early. Speaking at an event for the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking in Aizawl, he told the crowd that even light experimentation invites disaster.
Lalduhoma claimed drug syndicates are weaponizing the local culture of trust. Traffickers are actively tricking Mizo people into acting as couriers. He urged the public to feed information on these criminal networks directly to law enforcement. The fight requires a unified front from parents, teachers, and officials.
"Drugs may be within your reach, but have the courage to refuse them. Do not even experiment with them," Lalduhoma told the gathering of students. He vowed that the state government will beef up anti-drug programs and push awareness campaigns to break the cycle of abuse.
