Aizawl: Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma released the inaugural annual report for the state’s Anti-Corruption Bureau on Thursday. It covers the 2025-2026 fiscal year. The report highlights a long-term crackdown on graft across the state. Between 2010 and 2026, the bureau secured 112 convictions in 35 cases tried in the Special Court.
Corruption hurts everyone. During the 2025-2026 period, the agency received 17 complaints. They launched 15 preliminary enquiries, which resulted in six regular cases. The bureau also managed to wrap up 14 enquiries and disposed of seven regular cases during the same stretch.
Lalduhoma used the event to warn government staff. He expects them to work with integrity. The government has beefed up the bureau and the Mizoram Lokayukta to sharpen the fight. The Chief Minister stated, "combating corruption cannot be left to a single agency, but rather requires the collective participation of both citizens and government employees."
ACB Director J. Lalthafamkima chaired the release event. Vigilance Department Secretary Y.L.N. Reddy and Superintendent of Police Lalbiakkila also participated. The state hopes this report pushes for better transparency in public administration.
