Mizo Integration Council Pushes for Unified Zo Identity

Aizawl: The Mizo Integration Council toured Mizoram from January 20 to 23 to lock in support for its unification plan. Delegation members sat down with Chief Minister Lalduhoma and heads of major civil society groups. They want to bring all Zo descendants under the Mizo name. The council plans to keep pushing this agenda forward.

The team hit the ground running in Aizawl. They held talks with the Zo Re-Unification Organisation, the Central Young Mizo Association, and the Mizo Zirlai Pawl. Everyone listened. The group pushed for better integration of Zo people across different regions. They discussed specific ways to build cultural and administrative ties.

Logistical plans also made the agenda. The council wants to host the Chapchar Kut festival in Lamka and gain access to existing Mizoram Houses across India. They also floated the idea of a new Mizoram Guest House in Churachandpur. These steps aim to bridge the gap between communities.

The council spokesperson noted the reception they received during the three-day trip. They stated, "The organisation remains focused on its core objective of uniting all Zo descendants under the Mizo nomenclature." The group intends to keep talking with political leaders and institutions to turn these goals into reality.
