Shillong: Meghalaya is handing out free laptops to students who aced their 2026 exams. The government program covers those who passed Class 10 and Class 12 tests held by the Meghalaya Board of School Education, plus the ICSE, ISC, and CBSE boards. The gear is coming. Eligibility rules remain strict.

Students from ICSE, ISC, or CBSE schools only qualify if their campus sits within Meghalaya state lines. The Directorate of Information Technology and Communications already posted a provisional list of winners online. Check that list now.

If your name appears but you have heard nothing, head to the directorate office immediately. Bring your original marksheets, a valid photo ID, and all necessary paperwork for verification. The notice stated: "Students may submit their queries or objections in writing to the directorate on or before September 3, 2026."

The online registration portal stays live from August 3 through September 3, 2026. Do not miss this window.
