Shillong: Work on a 51-crore skywalk project in Meghalaya's Mawkdok Dympep Valley has reached 20 percent completion. Sohra MLA Gavin Miguel Mylliem confirmed that construction began last year and remains on schedule to welcome the public by late 2027.

The structure is designed to feature a 40-metre-long walkway. It includes a seven-metre-wide cantilever section that extends directly over the valley to provide visitors with panoramic views of the landscape. The project covers 0.54 acres and incorporates a pedestrian deck area measuring 2,195 square metres.

Located along the Shillong-Sohra highway, the valley is already popular for its lush greenery and dramatic gorge. Officials hope the new vantage point will add a significant draw for travelers and enhance the tourism appeal of the region.
