Shillong: Meghalaya officials launched a week-long outreach campaign this Friday to bring government welfare programs directly to tribal communities. Held at the DRDA Conference Hall in Ampati, the Jan Bhagidari Abhiyan aims to bridge the gap between rural residents and essential public services.
The campaign runs from May 18 through May 25, 2026. Organizers from the State Rural Employment Society plan to host Beneficiary Saturation Camps across selected villages to ensure that all eligible individuals can access government aid. These efforts focus on the DA-JGUA villages within the South West Garo Hills district.
Project Director R.Z.D. Shira chaired the launch, which brought together representatives from various sectors including health, education, agriculture, and public works. The participating departments discussed strategies to improve service delivery through better inter-departmental cooperation and active community involvement. By coordinating these efforts, officials hope to maximize the impact of development activities and ensure broader coverage for residents living in remote areas.
