Shillong: Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar announced a potential Rs 653 crore investment boost for the state during the North East India Infrastructure Summit and Exhibition 2026. Speaking on the final day of the event, Dhar highlighted the success of the UNNATI programme, which aims to drive growth across key sectors such as tourism, healthcare, and food processing.

During the session titled "UNNATI & Beyond Industries and Innovative Funding of MSMEs & Startups in the North East Region," he emphasized that the state remains committed to these efforts.

Meghalaya also showcased its success in the Business Reforms Action Plan 2024. The state has emerged as a top performer in the national ranking, demonstrating significant progress in administrative and industrial policy. Officials at the summit discussed further strategies to improve financial access for small businesses and startups to sustain this momentum.
