Shillong: The Meghalaya BJP finally admitted its frustration with the state government. Flagship central projects are moving too slowly. Party General Secretary Wankitbok Pohshna confirmed the delay on Saturday, noting that benefits are not hitting the ground fast enough for local residents. The party wants a serious push to fix bottlenecks in rural road building, clean water access, and urban housing.
Pohshna demanded better oversight for these federal initiatives. He warned that the party will lean on implementing agencies to get things moving. "The party believes there is an urgent need to accelerate the rollout of key welfare and development programmes," Pohshna said. He expects higher efficiency in areas covering healthcare, nutrition, and job creation.
Better coordination remains the only path forward. The BJP intends to keep constant pressure on stakeholders until every eligible household gets the support promised by the Centre. Faster action means better infrastructure for underserved pockets of Meghalaya.
