MATI Boosts Meghalaya Civil Service Aspirants

Shillong: The Meghalaya Administrative Training Institute is helping local students chase high-stakes government careers. By providing coaching, mentorship, and cash, the institute removes barriers for those gunning for the UPSC and MCS exams. Aspirants no longer feel the need to move to Delhi for elite prep.

Kerlang Sohkhlet is currently prepping for his Mains after three prior attempts. He leans on the ALS Shillong program for guidance. Success requires smart, consistent work rather than just logging hours with books. He insists that digital tools make study materials accessible, though he warns that students must manage their time carefully. "Success in competitive examinations is less about the number of hours spent with books and more about studying smartly and maintaining consistency," Sohkhlet said.

Abarister Manners, another student on his fourth attempt, noted that his past experiences have sharpened his strategy. He previously studied in Delhi but finds the current local resources in Shillong highly effective. After clearing his Preliminary exam, he is now setting his sights on the Mains and the Meghalaya Civil Service. Both students credit the state government and the institute for easing financial burdens, allowing them to remain in Meghalaya while they prepare for the future.
