Manipur Tribe Council Demands Justice for Six Slain Civilians

Imphal: The Joint Tribe Council, Manipur (JTCM) rejected claims from the Kuki-Zo Council regarding the murder of six Naga civilians. During a press conference at the Manipur Press Club, JTCM leaders labeled the Kuki-Zo Council’s explanation of the killings as unacceptable. They dismissed the idea that the brutal attack was merely an emotional outburst.

Co-Convenor KC Savio demanded the state and central government identify and arrest the killers immediately. He slammed officials for their lack of progress. No suspects sit in jail. The council warned that inaction only deepens the divide in a state already struggling with land and security disputes.

JTCM General Secretary Dr. Aku Newmai issued a hard ultimatum to the authorities. "The families and the organisation may refrain from claiming the bodies of the six victims if their demands remain unaddressed," Newmai said. The council remains committed to its agitation until the killers face court.
