Manipur schools host anti-drug rallies for International Day

Imphal: Manipur officials held drug awareness campaigns across Pherzawl and Imphal East on Thursday. These events marked the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking under the theme, "Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan – Viksit Bharat Ki Pehchaan".

Pherzawl Police gathered students and staff at St. Xavier School in Thanlon. Experts warned the crowd about the physical and psychological toll of addiction. Teachers and pupils finished the day by promising to keep their society free of narcotics.

The 6th India Reserve Battalion teamed up with the Imphal East District Level Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan Committee for a larger event at Hundred Flowers Higher Secondary School. Commandant S. Ibomcha Singh and other local leaders joined the effort. Hundreds of students walked in a mass rally from Pangei to Khurai Heinou Makhong.

They held a poster campaign to drive the message home. Participants pledged to avoid the possession, sale, and cultivation of drugs. Officials urged the youth to choose healthy paths to help build a stronger nation.
