Manipur Police Arrest KCP (MFL) Member in Imphal East

Imphal: Manipur police arrested a member of the proscribed KCP (MFL) group on June 6 during a security operation in Imphal East. The suspect, 45-year-old Ningthoujam Yamba Singh, was taken into custody at Langdum Makha Leikai under the jurisdiction of the Irilbung Police Station.

Authorities identified the man by several aliases, including Boy, Naocha, Loijing, and Sanayamba. He is a resident of Keirao Bitra Awang Leikai. Officials stated the cadre was actively involved in extortion schemes targeting local residents, private businesses, and government offices to secure funding for the organization.

During the arrest, security personnel confiscated a 9 mm pistol, a magazine containing four live rounds, and a sling bag. According to officials, the "cadre was allegedly involved in extortion activities targeting members of the public, private establishments and government offices to raise funds for the outfit." An investigation into the matter remains ongoing.
