Manipur Officials Condemn Deadly Attack in Kangpokpi District

Imphal: Manipur Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen and Saitu MLA Haokholet Kipgen have issued a sharp condemnation following the killing of three civilians in Kangpokpi district. The victims, identified as Letkhongam Haokip, Tinmary Haokip, and Jangminlal Haokip, lost their lives during an attack on Loibol village near New Keithelmanbi that also resulted in the destruction of multiple homes.

Addressing the violence that occurred early Friday morning, the Deputy Chief Minister expressed her grief over the tragedy. "I am deeply saddened and anguished by the tragic loss of three innocent lives, including a woman, in the unfortunate incident that occurred at Loibol village under New Keithelmanbi in Kangpokpi district," Kipgen said in a public statement. She added that targeting innocent civilians only undermines ongoing efforts to restore security and peace across the state.

Haokholet Kipgen joined in the condemnation, labeling the event a brutal attack on the village and the property of its residents. As tensions rise in the region, local organizations are calling for increased security measures in vulnerable areas and demanding swift justice for the families affected by the violence. The government has pledged its commitment to upholding the rule of law and protecting its citizens.
