Imphal: The Manipur government has transferred the investigation into the disappearance of six civilians to the National Investigation Agency to ensure a transparent and swift resolution. Home Commissioner N. Ashok Kumar confirmed this decision in an official response to the United Naga Council, which had expressed deep concern regarding the state's security and the fate of the missing individuals.

Security forces have ramped up their presence in vulnerable regions through intensified search operations, combing exercises, and intelligence-driven activities. The government maintains that protecting all citizens is its top priority and has vowed to hold those responsible for the abductions accountable, regardless of their status or group affiliation.

Regarding concerns over the Suspension of Operations agreement, state officials announced they will strictly enforce existing ground rules. Working in coordination with the central government, the state will also oversee the rationalization and relocation of designated armed group camps to ensure compliance with official mandates.

Following these commitments, the government appealed to the United Naga Council to help secure the release of the missing persons. State authorities also called for an immediate end to economic blockades on national highways, urging all stakeholders to prioritize public interest and work toward restoring lasting peace in the region.
