Imphal: The Joint Tribes' Council Manipur ended its emergency shutdown across the Zeliangrong region on Tuesday. Officials announced the conclusion of the protest at 5 pm, thanking the community for their disciplined participation and unwavering support throughout the agitation.

While the immediate shutdown is over, the council stressed that its broader movement remains active. Leadership stated that they will keep monitoring the situation involving six Naga civilians who were allegedly abducted on May 13. The council accused villagers from Leilon Veiphei Kuki village of colluding with Kuki narco militants in the disappearance of these men.

The organization issued a firm warning that it may resume protests or reimpose the shutdown if the captives are not returned home safely and immediately. Council members stated that their struggle for justice will only be complete once all six individuals are accounted for and back with their families.
