Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh declared that a united state is the only way forward, emphasizing that the collective sacrifices of Manipur's 36 communities have long preserved its identity and integrity. Speaking at the inauguration of a new girls' hostel at the Mission Blind School in Tengnoupal district, the Chief Minister urged residents to protect the legacy left by their ancestors.

Highlighting the necessity of peaceful coexistence, Singh drew a parallel between the state and Singapore to demonstrate how progress relies on transcending community divisions. He maintained that dialogue is the only viable path to progress, stating, "violence can never be a solution and urged all sections of society to resolve differences through dialogue."

The Chief Minister noted that despite a three-year period of conflict, positive indicators of normalcy are finally appearing. He pointed to increased travel and community interactions as proof that the state is on a path to recovery. To support the region's future, Singh announced that the government will upgrade the Mission Blind School from Class VIII to Class X, allowing visually impaired students to complete their education locally without relocating. He directed the Director of Social Welfare to fast-track this expansion.

The event, which included cultural performances by the Maring, Kom, and Tarao tribal groups, also served as a forum for local representatives to present memoranda regarding regional development. Officials, including Deputy Commissioner Saurabh Yadav and community leaders, attended the ceremony to mark the school's new milestone.
