Shillong: Former Education Minister Manas Chaudhuri told students to chase their goals with grit on Tuesday. He spoke at the University of Science and Technology Meghalaya. The event served as the 7th Dr. Donkupar Roy Memorial Lecture. The talk centered on moving from ordinary to extraordinary through focus and drive.
Chaudhuri laid out his philosophy during the speech at the university central auditorium. "Purpose and perseverance are the two forces that transform ordinary lives into extraordinary achievements. Success is not defined by where we begin, but by the determination with which we pursue our dreams despite every challenge," Chaudhuri said.
Key figures gathered to honor the late Dr. Donkupar Roy. Attendees included The Shillong Times Publisher Shobha Chaudhuri and USTM Chancellor Mahbubul Hoque. Vice Chancellor Prof GD Sharma and PIMC Director Prof Dr. AC Kataki also attended. Hoque praised Roy as a visionary leader known for his humble nature and public service.
The session ended with a question and answer period. Students asked the former minister for advice on leadership and personal growth. The event drew a large crowd of faculty and pupils.
