Maharashtra and Telangana Grant Land for New Meghalaya Houses

Shillong: Maharashtra agreed to give Meghalaya land for a new state guest house in Navi Mumbai. The plot will cost about Rs 7 crore. This is a steal. The actual market value sits at roughly Rs 90 crore. Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma confirmed the deal after reaching out to local officials.

The facility serves a clear purpose. It will house residents traveling for medical care, schooling, or state business. Sangma is pushing to expand this support network across India. He recently secured a similar land commitment in Hyderabad after meeting with the Telangana Chief Minister. “The chief minister has agreed to provide the land,” Sangma said.

These sites in Navi Mumbai and Hyderabad aim to fix ongoing accommodation shortages. Residents face high costs when visiting these major cities. Providing stable, affordable housing will bridge that gap. The projects signal a win for Meghalaya travelers needing a home base.
