Langsning FC Extends Winning Streak in Meghalaya State League

Shillong: Langsning FC continued their dominant run in the fifth Meghalaya State League on May 20, securing a 6-1 victory against Nangkiew Irat SC at the SSA Stadium in Shillong. This result marks the team's 10th consecutive win, maintaining their perfect record since the preliminary stage.

The offensive effort was led by league top scorer Nelson Rymbai, who netted a hat-trick to bring his tournament tally to 21 goals. Samuel Phawa contributed two goals, while Morningstar Khongkiang added one. Although Nangkiew Irat briefly narrowed the gap with a 27th-minute free-kick from Ronaldkydon L Nonglait, Langsning pulled away decisively in the second half.

In the other Group B match of the day, Rymbai Shkenshynriah SC defeated Maram FC 4-2. Hesmiki Rymbai and Monush Lapang established an early lead for Shkenshynriah, while teammates Skilful Tariang and Niphonghi Sumer added second-half goals. Maram FC responded with strikes from Santosh Teron and Jakchim K Marak but remained without a point this season.

Langsning currently leads Group B with nine points, followed by Shkenshynriah with six points. Nangkiew Irat holds three points, and Maram remains at the bottom of the group. The competition moves to Group A this Thursday with matches featuring Mawlai SC against Rangdajied United FC and Nongkseh SSCC against Shillong Lajong.
