Imphal: The village authority of Langka in the Kangpokpi District has accused Kuki militants operating under the Suspension of Operation agreement of launching a terror attack against their community. Residents reported that gunfire broke out between local volunteers and suspected militants, leading to the destruction of several farmhouses. While livestock were killed during the incident, officials have confirmed there are no human casualties at this time.

In a formal statement, the village authority alleged that the assault began mid-morning. According to the release, "Kuki terrorists launched an attack on the civilian population of Langka Naga Village using heavy weapons and explosive devices, causing fear and insecurity among the local population." The authority specifically linked the KNF(P) group to the violence and claimed the KNF (Nehlun) group is acting as their proxy.

The village leadership further alleged that the militant operations are commanded by Jangboi Kipgen, the KNF(P) home secretary. They have requested that the state government launch an immediate and impartial investigation into the activities of these groups in nearby villages to prevent further escalation. As tensions remain high, local authorities are calling for restraint and the restoration of the rule of law to ensure the safety of residents living along the IT road.
