Imphal: Kuki civil society groups in Churachandpur have officially boycotted Chief Minister Y Khemchand Singh. He planned to visit the area on July 4. That trip is now off the table.

The Kuki Civil Society Organisations issued a joint statement this Friday. They refuse to let any Meitei official or individual inside their district borders until the Kuki-Zo-Meitei conflict ends. The groups claim they reached this decision after learning of the Chief Minister's scheduled visit to Lamka and Songpi.

Groups involved include the Kuki Inpi, the Kuki Students Organisation, and the Kuki Chiefs Association. These organizations warned the Chief Minister that any trouble resulting from a visit would be "solely his responsibility."
