Imphal: The Kuki Students’ Organisation (KSO) Delhi and NCR has renewed its call for justice and security for the Kuki-Zo people. Speaking at a press conference in solidarity with a recent nationwide rally, the group alleged that their community faces systematic persecution and the denial of constitutional rights following years of ethnic unrest in Manipur.

The organisation highlighted the May 13 killing of three Thadou-Kuki church leaders as a direct threat to religious freedom. Despite public outcry, the group noted that no arrests have been made in connection with these murders. They are urging the Indian government to launch a time-bound investigation by central agencies and ensure those responsible for the violence are brought to justice.

Concerns were also raised regarding the detention of 14 Kuki-Zo individuals in Senapati district, which the group described as a human rights violation. They demanded the immediate release of these individuals and accountability for law enforcement failures. The KSO reported that the ongoing conflict has displaced thousands, destroyed numerous villages, and damaged religious institutions across the region.

Seeking a long-term resolution, the KSO reiterated its demand for a separate administration for the Kuki-Zo people. They called for the full implementation of Article 371C and the restoration of the Hill Areas Committee's constitutional powers. According to the organisation, current administrative shifts have improperly placed hill villages under the jurisdiction of valley-based institutions. Furthermore, the group is pushing for a formal inquiry into historical violence dating back to the 1992 conflict.
