Kohima Officials Push Nutrition Schemes at Midland Community Hall

Kohima: The Child Development Project Officer office in Kohima Urban held a community meeting at the Midland Community Hall to mark Poshan Maah 2026. This event focused on the theme, "Hamari Anganwadi Hamari Jimmedari-My Anganwadi My Responsibility."

Midland Council chairman Menuokholie Kire praised the Social Welfare Department for bringing state welfare schemes directly to mothers and children. He told the crowd, "He urged the community to take advantage of the schemes and derive maximum benefit."

CDPO Reyivolu Kezo explained the details of Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0, along with Mission Shakti-Palna and PMMVY. Kezo asked for community help to make these programs work. The District Hub for Empowerment of Women also handed out eggs to adolescent girls to boost their nutrition under the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao initiative.

Senior supervisor Anino Peseyie detailed ECS and ECCE activities. District coordinator Sohile Tep lectured on dietary needs for pregnant women, lactating mothers, and teenagers. Anganwadi children performed a song for the attendees.

The day included a vegetable display, a food tasting station, and growth monitoring. Staff handled Aadhaar enrolment and PMMVY spot registration while activating the Anganwadi Management Committee. Midland ward councillor Kekhrieselhou Metha and various colony leaders attended the gathering.
