Kohima Municipal Council Implements New Poultry Pricing and Safety Rules

Kohima: The Kohima Municipal Council has officially implemented revised price regulations for non-vegetarian food products across its jurisdiction. These updated rates are effective immediately and will stay in place until the council issues further notices.

Alongside the pricing changes, the council introduced several operational requirements for local poultry vendors. Shopkeepers must now display their approved rate charts and trade licenses in a prominent location at their places of business. To improve transaction accuracy and public health, the council now mandates the use of digital weighing scales and requires all staff to wear aprons while handling goods.

The council emphasized the importance of cleanliness and directed all shop owners to uphold strict hygiene standards. Authorities warned that any failure to adhere to these new guidelines will result in enforcement measures, stating that "any violation of the prescribed guidelines would invite strict action from the council."
