Guwahati: Kamrup district recently concluded an extensive week of public outreach under the Jan Bhagidari Abhiyan, part of the Jan Jatiya Garima Utsav 2026. The campaign, which ran from May 18 to May 25, reached 64 villages across all four development blocks in the region.
Officials used 34 Adi Sewa Kendras to connect with nearly 4,000 citizens, including local youth, women, the elderly, and persons with disabilities. By coordinating with community leaders and various government departments, the initiative aimed to bring essential services directly to rural and remote populations.
During the sessions, residents raised more than 3,900 concerns regarding road infrastructure, drinking water supplies, ration cards, Aadhaar services, and general livelihood support. While officials resolved many of these issues on the spot, the remaining cases have been assigned for time-bound follow-up actions.
Alongside these grievance sessions, the district organized health camps to provide medical consultations and information on government welfare schemes. These activities were designed to improve access to preventive healthcare and strengthen government presence in underserved areas.
