Imphal: A nine-year-old girl from K. Geljang village in Churachandpur received emergency medical care from the Indian Army after a suspected snake bite on Thursday. Themjoukim Haokip was playing near her home at 2:30 pm when the incident occurred. Her family sought help from the military when her condition began to deteriorate.

The medical team from the 2 JAKLI unit met the family at L. Phainom village to provide immediate assistance. Doctors discovered two distinct bite marks on the sole of the girl's left foot, which displayed significant swelling and pain. The team performed a Whole Blood Clotting Test to evaluate her for venom exposure.

The child's condition improved following the initial intervention. Medical personnel confirmed that the girl is now in stable condition, though she was transferred to a higher medical facility for specialized care. Reflecting on the situation, the medical team noted, "The child showed signs of improvement and reported relief from her symptoms."
