Guwahati: The India Meteorological Department expects thunderstorms, lightning, and heavy rain to hammer Arunachal Pradesh through August 28. Officials issued a yellow alert for most of the state. Stay sharp.
For Tuesday and Wednesday, 23 of the state's 28 districts remain under a yellow alert. Residents must watch for bad weather. On Thursday, warnings hit 20 districts. This list includes Tawang, West Kameng, East Kameng, Pakke-Kessang, Papum Pare, Kurung Kumey, and Kra Daadi.
The storm track shifts on Friday. Tawang, West Kameng, East Kameng, Pakke-Kessang, Papum Pare, Kurung Kumey, Kra Daadi, Kamle, Lower Subansiri, and Changlang are under notice. Thunderstorms and heavy rain will hit these spots. Saturday brings a break. No weather warnings exist for the weekend, hinting at conditions finally improving across the region.
Authorities want locals to stay safe. "The IMD has advised residents to remain cautious during spells of heavy rain and thunderstorms, particularly in vulnerable and landslide-prone areas, and follow advisories issued by the local administration."
