Guwahati: Panbazar police officers took Rajibul Rahman into custody after a raid near the No. 3 Railway Gate in Guwahati. The suspect, who hails from Barpeta, faced immediate arrest following a tip from informants. Police moved fast. They caught Rahman red-handed with seven vials of heroin totaling 9.16 grams.
Officers booked the man under current laws. Authorities are now digging into his background to find where he sourced the narcotics and if he operates as part of a wider trafficking ring. The Guwahati Police Commissionerate oversaw the entire operation. According to police, "The accused was taken into custody for questioning and further legal proceedings." The investigation remains active as detectives track the supply chain.

In a separate operation, Noonmati police picked up 39-year-old Haren Kalita of Haripur during a raid at Borochawk. Officers recovered 12 vials of heroin weighing 14.18 grams, along with six empty vials, 5,650 rupees in cash, and a mobile phone. Investigators also seized a stolen Yamaha Ray Z scooter tied to the suspect.

In Hatsingimari, Kharuabandha police landed another dealer, Nurul Asid, during a separate anti-drug sweep. Officers seized 161 narcotic tablets and a bottle of cough syrup from the suspect. He remains in custody while investigators look for his suppliers.
Meanwhile, cops in Barpeta Road picked up Mizanur Rahman, a Bilasipara local, with seven containers of narcotics. The arrest comes as part of a regional push to break up local drug networks.
