Kohima: A five-member French delegation finished a six-day visit to Nagaland this Wednesday, marking the conclusion of a trip aimed at developing professional and cultural ties. Led by Marc Boudin, Director of Alliance Française du Bengale, the group engaged in high-level discussions throughout the state to identify opportunities for cooperation in tourism, hospitality, sports, medicine, and culinary arts.
During a roundtable meeting in Chumoukedima, Boudin discussed the potential for long-term collaboration between France and the state. He described the region as a “region of culture” with significant capacity for meaningful international engagement. Abu Metha, Chairman of the Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland, stated that the visit was essential for building stronger diplomatic and people-to-people connections that provide mutual benefits.
The trip emerged from discussions held during the Country Partner Business Roundtable at last year's Hornbill Festival. Throughout their stay, the delegation participated in various events, including culinary workshops, a football panel, and the opening of a dedicated football space at Ruby Café. The delegation also included representatives from medicine, education, and exploration fields to ensure a broad spectrum of potential institutional and corporate partnerships.
