Four Arrested in Assam for Dog Theft and Trafficking Ring

Guwahati: Samaguri Police arrested four men in Assam's Nagaon district on June 11 following a late-night operation targeting a suspected dog trafficking ring. Officers apprehended the group in the Gardmow area of Puranigudam after receiving reports of animals being stolen from across the region.

The suspects have been identified as Ganiram Ronghang, Dorsing Terang, Sarhan Tokbi, and Babi Ronghang. According to police sources, the accused were allegedly involved in stealing dogs from areas including Samaguri and Puranigudam, and were reportedly attempting to transport the animals to other states.

During the arrests, authorities seized a luxury vehicle believed to be linked to the trafficking operations. They also recovered several items suspected of being used to facilitate the thefts. The four men are now in judicial custody while police continue to investigate the full extent of the network and determine if additional suspects are involved.
