Four Arrested for Cattle Theft in Assam Ahead of Eid

Guwahati: Police in Assam arrested four suspected cattle thieves in the Dhubri district just before the Eid celebrations. The operation took place in the riverine Ironjongla Part-III area, located across the Brahmaputra River.

Officer Abha Jyoti Rabha of the AM Co Road Police Outpost led the mission with help from security personnel and local residents. Acting on specific tips about local theft, the team managed to corner the suspects and recover two stolen cows. Authorities also confiscated several sharp-edged weapons found in the possession of the accused.

The suspects were identified as Samer Ali, Rajab Ali, Mofizul Mondal, and Nur Haque Mandal. All four individuals are currently being held at the AM Co Road Bazaar Town Police Outpost for further legal action.

Investigators are now working to determine if the group belongs to a broader criminal network involved in cattle smuggling within the border regions. Police expect that further interrogation of the men may lead to additional arrests as the case continues.
