Kohima: A three-day mandatory training program for the Census 2027 began Wednesday at the Commissioner's Circuit House in Kohima. The session brings together 36 Field Trainers from the Kohima, Tseminyu, Wokha, and Zunheboto districts.

Addressing the group, SDO (Civil) Sadar, Er. Seyiekhrietuo Solo, emphasized that the census is a vital tool for state development rather than just a population count. He urged participants to maintain high standards of accuracy to avoid the data gaps seen in previous census cycles. These trainers will play a primary role in preparing enumerators and supervisors back in their respective districts.

Census officials noted that the 2027 operation will be fully digital. Plans include a self-enumeration phase scheduled to begin before July. To ensure consistency, the government has adopted a five-level training structure for this cycle.

The training is led by Master Trainers Tosovil Niekha and Temjensunep. As one of the world's largest administrative efforts, the census remains a cornerstone for economic planning and national policy development.
