Guwahati: East Guwahati police arrested an alleged drug dealer during an anti-narcotics operation in Sonapur on June 6. Acting on intelligence, officers raided a hideout near the Jugdol Toll Gate and apprehended 29-year-old Nizam Ali, a local resident.
During the search, authorities recovered a soap box containing 12.06 grams of suspected heroin. Officials also seized an Alto car, registration number AS23AF5646, which they believe was used to facilitate the illegal trade.
Police have taken the suspect into custody and initiated formal legal proceedings. Regarding the ongoing investigation, authorities stated, "further investigation is underway to ascertain the source of the contraband and identify any links to a wider drug trafficking network."
