Dimapur Officials Launch Rural Development Planning Sessions

Kohima: Rural development officials met in Dimapur on July 3 to kick off training for the 2026-27 People's Plan Campaign. Teams from DRDA Dimapur, Chumoukedima, and Niuland gathered at the conference hall to outline the Gram Panchayat Development Plan framework.

Limameren Yaden, project director for DRDA Dimapur, set the tone for the session. He told attendees that these plans form the core of local growth. He said, "The GPDP forms the foundation for inclusive and sustainable rural development."

BDO Jacob Zeliang opened the day with a call for better coordination between stakeholders. Experts then led technical sessions on how to build plans that actually serve the residents. Bichano Humtsoe, DPM of RGSA, walked participants through the specific requirements for sector-based inputs.

Representatives from 12 separate government departments attended the event. The group looked at ways to break down silos and work as one unit. Better teamwork will move projects forward.

The Department of Rural Development stated that the success of the campaign hinges on collective work. Officials remain focused on finishing realistic, need-based development strategies for the coming year.
