Kohima: The Sargam Cultural Association, in partnership with the North East Zone Cultural Centre under the Union Ministry of Culture, hosted Rabindra Utsav 2026 this Sunday at the Durga Mandir Auditorium in Dimapur. The event, which celebrated cultural heritage, drew 160 young contestants who demonstrated their artistic talents across three age-based categories.
Proceedings began with the National Song, followed by an opening address from Sargam advisor and advocate Mahavir Jain. The competition was overseen by judges Rajive Dey, Kamal Das, and Manjit Mukherjee. Organizing efforts were led by Kamal Acharjee, who managed the event's concept and direction, while Pampi Sarkar and Srabanee Acharjee served as hosts.
Winners included Girikbe Langthasa, Leevika Debnath, and Dilipdi Jigdung, who each secured first place in their respective groups. The program also saw attendance from Pankaj Sinha of Vidya Bharati, Dimapur. As stated in the official event program, "The programme began with the National Song, followed by a short address from advocate Mahavir Jain, advisor to Sargam."
