Kohima: Indisen Baptist Arogo Dimapur held a voluntary blood donation camp and an HIV and AIDS awareness seminar as part of its Mission Week observance. The church hosted the events on its grounds to support the community.
The blood drive took place July 13. It was a joint effort with the Blood Bank at District Hospital Dimapur. Church members and well-wishers turned up to donate. The drive aimed to fix the chronic shortage of blood supplies for patients needing transfusions. IBAD Pastor Rev Sentiyanger opened the session with an invocation prayer for the medical staff and those giving blood.
Earlier in the week, the church held an awareness seminar for teenagers on July 11. The Mission Board organized the session to teach kids about HIV and AIDS. The goal was to encourage informed decisions and responsible behavior. Akum Amri provided an introduction before Rev Sentiyanger led another invocation. Resource persons then led keynote sessions to break down the medical facts of the disease.
Ningsangliba, the Mission Board Secretary, wrapped up the proceedings. He thanked the medical team, the guest speakers, and everyone who participated. In a press release, the church said, "The efforts would help save lives and promote health awareness among young people." Church leaders offered formal appreciation to all donors, volunteers, and medical personnel who made the week a success.
